Im extremely excited about the release of this new product. Its a proper Rhodes but built for now with a better action, midi, a great built in preamp and above all, its lighter! Yes- no more broken backs (though i have got carrying my rhodes mark 2 on my own with the lid off down cold!)
Whilst the Mark 7 has been seen a trade fairs around the world for a while now and many have doubted that it will be going into production, nobody has got their hands on a production model-yet! Well, hopefully that person is going to be me over in the UK as im angling to get it tested on a few gigs and review it for Future Music Magazine. As soon as i have more info ill report back.

Very exciting.
I wasn't sure myself. A few people were saying they were just MK5's with a new case.
Best bit is a new action. Imagine a Rhodes with a consistent tone and sustain throughout the keyboard. No duff notes or those tine kissing dampers. Pure even, consistent Rhodes tone. I can't fooking wait.
And MIDI!! MIDI out into my Little Phatty. I wonder if you can split it? Perfect sync'd Rhodes & Moog lines. NOW I can finally sound like Jeff Lorber :)
Any news on the Mark 7 yet? To be honest I would be rather surprised to see the first production models shipped anytime soon...they haven't updated their website in ages, and surely theyd issue some kind of press release to announce production. Please prove me wrong ;-)

Cheers for replying guys! Well, i spoke with Arbiter about the Mark 7 a month or so ago and it looked likely i may get a mark 7 for my London Jazz festival gig on 21st November, so i need to get back in touch with them regarding that but as ive not heard anything yet, i presume its not going to happen. Its taking a long time, but i do believe these will come out and id rather they get them right than put out a lemon! As soon as i hear anything ill let you know!! Also im pencilled in to review the mk7 for Future Music Magazine as well so will let you know about that as well!

Oh yeah and you will be able to do midi out zones on the Mark 7 and have the Phatty controlled using the top few octaves...very nice indeed!!
